Hearing Care

Comprehensive Hearing Tests- This is a complete hearing test which included pure tone testing and bone conduction.  This testing will determine the degree (mild-profound) and type (conductive - sensorineural) of hearing loss.

Hearing Aid Consultation- Once the type of hearing loss has been diagnosed the various types of technology will be discussed and the most appropriate technology for the individual's loss will be determined.  There are various types of hearing aids and many different manufacturers from which to choose.

Hearing Aid Fitting & Testing- Once the hearing aid has been ordered then the patient will have an orientation time where he/she will learn how to use and care for the hearing aids.  The patient will have a trial period to determine how the hearing aids are working in their ears in various listening environments.

Assistive Listening Devices- In addition to hearing aids there are other devices that can help a person with their hearing loss.  These things can be used to help in situations such as on the phone or in a conference hall.  There are many things such as infrared amplifiers for the TV, amplified telephones personal FM systems and classroom amplification systems.  These options can be discussed as needed.
